Founded in 1993 by a group of educators, historians, and preservationists, Motherland Connextions was created with a clear purpose: to use historic places and landscapes to reveal the past and bring history to life.

We are a heritage tour company that uses tourism as a powerful educational tool. Our work has been featured in The New York Times, U.S. News & World Report, and National Geographic, and highlighted on the History Channel and the Travel Channel’s Secrets of Niagara.

Our experiential, upscale tours emphasize authenticity and historical accuracy. Costumed guides—equipped with iPads loaded with historic images—present the Niagara Falls and Buffalo region through a rich historical lens as we travel to significant historic sites and notable points of interest


The Underground Railroad Experience

Our Underground Railroad Tour explores what may be America’s first multi-cultural humanitarian movement, all set against the thunderous roar of the mighty Niagara Falls and its powerful connection to this history.
